with us. fox 5 morning news will be right back. n thkeac >>> welcome back. it will be a beautiful day for people to get outside no matter what you are going to do. >> no excuses as far as the weather goes. get outside and vote if have you the opportunity and it is your obligation to do that. what we've got across the region is plenty of sunshine. it will be a little bit breezy later on. right now, the wind are relatively calm. we've got changes in the temperatures at this hour. it is a comfortable morning, a little bit humid. 66degrees right now in washington. 6 # out in annapolis. 63 out in annapolis. most of us in the 60s. 61 at dulles airport. satellite-radar, i want to show you this to you for a couple of reasons. number one, we've got mostly clear skies but clouds are grinning to stream in. not a whole lot in the way of cloud cover. there is a frontal system that will be making its way through here during the course of the day today. you will feel the winds pick up and see the clouds come through. after that, we'll see clearer skies. t
and thunderstorm activity is out of here after providing some of us fireworks during the evening hours and we are left with warm temperatures. didn't really cool us down a whole lot. 74-degree at reagan national. 67 in baltimore. 67 out at dulles. you get the idea here, these temperatures much warmer than they've been the last couple of mornings. 67 in winchester. the shower and thunderstorm activity was kind of spotty in nature, kind of isolated. some of us got some pretty big storms. that has slipped off the coast. the morning fog will burn off and we'll be left with a hot and humid one this afternoon with once again temperatures jumping into the 90s. remember, it is the first full day of fall. our average high temperature is in the upper 70s and we are talking about 90s. mother nature is not willing to give up on summer quite eighty. highs later this afternoon with lots of sunshine in the low 90s. 91 here in town and just hot. not expecting a shower and/or thunderstorm activity later today. so it will be a quiet one. >> let's see if it is quiet out o
with us. fox 5 morning news at 5:00 continues right now. >>> we'll get you started with a live look outside. be extra careful when you head out today because rain is coming down really hard in many spots. good morning. i'm gurvir dhindsa. >> i'm allison seymour in for steve chenevey today. welcome to fox 5 morning news. >> let's go straight back to tony. >> the flash flood warning is in effect for washington, d.c., montgomery county, southern anne arundel county, prince george's county, calvert county, fredericksburg, king george county, the city of alexandria, fairfax, falls church, arlington county, loudoun county, fauquier county. i'm reading this to you because this just broke and we don't have the map ready yet. prince william county, fairfax county, even fauquier county. this is a flash flood warning. this is in effect until 10:45 a.m. this moons that flooding is imminent or has been observed already. you want to know that. flash flood warning in effect for essentially all of the area. and a tornado watch now in effect -- let's see. i'll let you know how long that is in effect
simmons in for gurvir dhindsa. >> i'm steve chenevey. thank you for being with us. let's say hello to tony perkins. how is it looking out there? >> still wet from the rain we had overnight and last night. still cloud out there but we'll see gradual clearing as the morning goes on. let's take a look at what is happening. we'll start with the current conditions being reported at reagan national airport where right now it is in the 70s. 73degrees at reagan national. relative humidity, 68%. those wind are out of the west at 15 miles per hour so it is breezy. barometric pressure has been falling. right now, we are just left with some clouds. they will be pushing out as the morning progresses and we'll see i think a good amount of sunshine in the latter part of the day. the forecast for today look like this, becoming mostly sunny gradually. cooler this afternoon. cooler than it was yesterday is what we mean. look for a high of about 84 degrees. that is actually above normal but still cooler than yesterday. more details coming up in just a little bi

. >> i'm steve chenevey welcome to fox 5 morning news on the day after election day. tony perkins with us as well. >> good morning to both of you. a fine day on tap. once again, we've got good weather conditions headed our way for the day. we'll see a lot of sunshine, i think more sunshine than what we saw yesterday. let's take a look at the current temperatures around the region. getting five cool to mild start depending on where you are. temperatures in the 50s and 60s. right now in washington where it is 64 degrees. it is 56 in baltimore. 55 out at dulles airport. 54 in frederick, maryland and 57 in fredericksburg so it is a cool start to the day with mostly clear skies. there is a look at your satellite-radar. saw some of the clouds that came through yesterday. they pushed out of here. skies are mainly clear at this hour and mostly cloud-free for the day today. there will be a couple of clouds here and there but we'll call it a partly to mostly sunny day. mostly sunny is what we're going to call it. here is your day planner. looking for highs today in the low to mid-80s. very pleasant
